This Privacy Policy explains how AccountingQnA may collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect information when you visit the site, use live chat, submit a question or contact request, or request or receive a paid consultation.
Information collected
Depending on how you use AccountingQnA, information may include information you choose to provide in a question, contact request, live-chat conversation, or consultation request; your name or business name if you provide it; contact details; the accounting software, edition, country, or workflow involved; and technical information that may be generated by hosting, security, analytics, cookie, or chat services.
Do not submit passwords, one-time authentication codes, access tokens, full bank or payment-card details, tax identification numbers, payroll records, unredacted client financial records, or other sensitive information that is not necessary for the request.
How information is used
AccountingQnA may use information to respond to questions and contact requests; provide, schedule, or administer consultations; maintain site security; detect spam, abuse, impersonation, credential harvesting, or other misuse; operate and improve site features; maintain moderation and business records; process privacy or legal requests; resolve disputes; and comply with applicable obligations.
AccountingQnA does not treat the use of a vendor name such as QuickBooks or Intuit as permission to access or act on a user's vendor account. Vendor-controlled account, billing, licensing, security, identity-verification, and refund matters should be handled through the relevant vendor's official channel.
Service providers and disclosures
AccountingQnA may use service providers for hosting, security, analytics, cookies, live chat, email or communications, and payment processing. Those providers may process information only as necessary to provide their services and under their own contractual or privacy obligations.
The site currently provides live chat through the chat service embedded on AccountingQnA. A payment provider must be identified on the checkout page before paid payment details are collected. The same payment provider should also be named in this Privacy Policy once paid checkout is enabled. Until the actual payment provider is confirmed, AccountingQnA should not represent an unnamed processor as a specific company.
Information may also be disclosed where reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights or security, investigate abuse or fraud, respond to valid legal process, or complete a transaction or service requested by the user. AccountingQnA does not sell account passwords, authentication codes, bank credentials, or payment-card details.
Retention and deletion
Information is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including responding to requests, delivering consultations, maintaining booking and payment-reference records, maintaining security and moderation records, resolving disputes, enforcing policies, and meeting legal obligations. Different categories of information may have different retention periods.
When information is no longer reasonably needed, it may be deleted, anonymized, or securely disposed of where practical. A user may request review, correction, or deletion of personal information through the Contact page, subject to information AccountingQnA must retain for security, fraud prevention, dispute handling, legal compliance, or other lawful reasons.
Security and sensitive information
AccountingQnA uses reasonable administrative and technical measures appropriate to the site's functions, but no internet transmission, chat service, email system, or storage method can be guaranteed completely secure.
Users are responsible for removing confidential accounting, payroll, tax, banking, payment-card, authentication, and client information before contacting the site. If sensitive information is posted or sent accidentally, use the Contact page and identify the affected page or conversation without unnecessarily repeating the sensitive information.
Privacy requests and choices
Privacy, access, correction, deletion, and related requests can be submitted through the AccountingQnA Contact page. AccountingQnA may need enough information to verify the request and locate the relevant records. Where applicable law provides additional rights, AccountingQnA will handle qualifying requests in accordance with those requirements.
Cookie, browser, analytics, or similar controls may also be available through the relevant browser or service settings. If translated versions of this Privacy Policy are published, they should be kept consistent with the current English version.
Paid consultations
When you request, book, pay for, reschedule, cancel, or receive a paid AccountingQnA consultation, information may include your name and contact details; business or organization name if you provide it; requested topic and software; preferred or confirmed appointment details; booking reference; consultation communications; notes needed to deliver the session; and any agreed deliverables or follow-up records.
Payment-card details should be entered only into the secure checkout interface of the payment provider identified on that checkout page. AccountingQnA may receive limited transaction information such as a payment or transaction reference, payment status, amount, currency, refund status, and related booking reference. AccountingQnA should not request full payment-card numbers, bank credentials, passwords, authentication codes, tax identifiers, payroll files, or unredacted client financial records for a consultation.
Consultation information may be used to schedule and deliver the service, communicate about the booking, document payments, cancellations, refunds, or rescheduling, maintain business and security records, resolve disputes, comply with legal obligations, and improve service quality. Consultation records are retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for those purposes and may then be deleted, anonymized, or securely disposed of where practical.
Payment-provider disclosure: before accepting payment, AccountingQnA should identify the actual payment provider on the checkout page and update this section to name that provider. The provider processes payment information under its own privacy practices.
Updates
AccountingQnA may update this policy when site features, service providers, legal requirements, or data practices change. The effective date above identifies this version. Material changes should be reflected on this page before new or materially different data practices are introduced.
